The Veritable Counsel has become Mental Health Philosophy.

Welcome.

Appealing to innate intelligence, the solution to mental issues are found in one’s Self.

This Other name of on’e Self, the activity of intelligence that is one’s existing person, is called philosophy.

Whatever you might think and do by it, you are establishing and maintaining philosophy.

So it is that here I mostly will not offer people quick ideas of how to be more mental healthy. At times I will though because it can be helpful.

Mental health philosophy is the category by which all things mental health arise necessarily, and the process by which the movement of awareness is coupled with the intentional activity of doing things in reality, and the elaboration and discussion of such involvement.

It is not so much “the philosophy of mental health” because whatever a philosophy of mental health holds or asserts is described, explained or otherwise is accounted for by mental health philosophy. This is not therefore a “philosophy of…” anything, but the involvement in a particular way of knowing and being by which such “philosophy of…” gains its bearing.

We are able to address psychology due to mental health. Psychology defines mental issue, the issue that mental health philosophy deals with.

About this blog

Essays in mental health philosophy—less “tips,” more why things work (or don’t). I look at the first principles under therapy, psychiatry, psychology, and everyday life, and occasionally share notes from papers and books-in-progress.

This space stands alongside—not inside—my counseling practice. If you’re seeking therapy in Colorado, there’s a link in the footer.
