Exploring the being of knowing

Danna Haraway and Human Animals.

Wow. I remember watching about 5 minutes of  THIS VIDEO when I was an under graduate at UCSC and I didn’t know what the hell she was talking about. Lol

Now though, it makes perfect sense. But also it’s own critiques of itself as being ‘of a particular discursive condition of time and place’. For, if this were the case, we would have to account for it by my not understanding it then, and then understanding it now. We might consider how my place in Colorado now, in a relatively wealthy enclave might be involved in my ability to make sense of it now, but then also how the 20 some years (30?) have made a difference also. We might even be able to see that no time has elapsed culturally, or that she was exactly out of time in the moment of this video.

What is ‘Coded’ gives rise then to the inescapable psychoanalytic, a direct line from 198-  to the Zizek-Lacan-Hegelian (ZLH) scaffolding of human existence in the world that is the historical moment notice of the present.

About this blog

Essays in mental health philosophy—less “tips,” more why things work (or don’t). I look at the first principles under therapy, psychiatry, psychology, and everyday life, and occasionally share notes from papers and books-in-progress.

This space stands alongside—not inside—my counseling practice. If you’re seeking therapy in Colorado, there’s a link in the footer.
