—- Do people want to think and reflect truly? I’d say generally, no. they want to make decision upon what is given of reality.

The rebuttal by Ticketmaster in this post is the significant aspect of the whole issue here.

Yes, the pure economic politics, sure, but one is conspicuously myopic if one considers instances of politics as something to be considered as isolated states.

What is the relationship between a monopoly and the event of entertainment in our current world of Ticketmaster ?

I would say, is the the situation of consumers wanting entertainment that give them the feeling that thier world and lives are segregated meaningfully. To get high. To forget thier life for a minute. To have the best inclusive sensational spectacle that is able to achieve complete dissociation from oneself: The community of no reflection.

In our day, that is accomplished by two things: intoxicants and technology. The entertaining performance and the chemical setting to alleviate oneself from being present to it: that is the apex concert going experience for our time.

If there is a monopoly, from the comment by Ticketmaster, it is that the venue must hold the conditions for mass technology and out of body sensational experiences, and Ticketmaster is just making it the easiest for people to get the “best” of the filled-nothing. It is the giving the people what they want in the form of being-here by not being-there.

Money, drugs, tech: the modern self.

The breaking up of the monopoly is the symbolic gesture of the Self in the attempt to disengage from the pure image of its projection.

Entertainment, while using tech, drugs and money because they are necessary conditions of reality, nonetheless is more authentic and helpful for the purpose they embody as affective objects when they reify the legitimacy of local artistic expression of the community: The True Phenomenal thing that is the human being being here by being-there.

Well, that was something, now, wasn’t it?
