—— I just read this post and pondered for about 15 seconds and came to a way to measure The predictive or perspective continent of any human endeavor toward the universe.
let us imagined that human thinking is able to discern and then understand universal mechanisms or universal operations. We don’t have to imagine very much, though, because that is the assumption that we put into science.
OK, so let us also imagine that computing ability or capacity, or just computing operation that gets us answers about how the universe might be functioning, is manifest by our technology, say, the example AI and Quantum computing. and then let’s take the further step and say that there is some sort of connection between our ability for computing, The information that we’re getting about the universe, and the universe itself.
with that in mind, I propose that we can get an estimate, a Measure, about how much were really finding out about the universe.
We simply compare our best observation about how large the universe is, its Sheer physics vastness, with how large the sheer physics vastness is of our computing infrastructure taken together.
The comparison between these two computing structures will give us a fair estimate as to what we really know.
and then I wonder if we could Use that same type of comparison for human beings, and what we know of human beings. If we could just take the sheer mass of human physical bodies and compare that with the sheer mass of our computing technology, I wonder how that would pan out.
