I’m just posting this because Benjamin doesn’t allow comments and I felt I must correct his first sentence:

Equity is not the same as equality.

Perhaps Ben meant equality but then I think those people who want equality for all are holding an anachronistic view of things — or Ben could be making a different argument, using equality.

Equity is to each for what And who they are, their own ability and capacity.

Equality is everyone gets the same.

I am not sure if very many people want equality any more. Equality under the law, sure, but then equity in society.

Every person should be recognized for who and what they are and not be excluded or marginalized because of their ability or capacity.

Everyone should not get the same because everyone is not the same.

Anyways. I’ll go read the rest of the essay now.
